SHORT DESCRIPTION: SOMSI is a volunteer organization whose aim is to collect, restore, house, valorize and classify ethnographic and cultural heritage, mainly old tools of peasants and craftsmen of the past, as well as furniture and equipment of houses and artisan workshops. These objects, many of which were donated, have been expertly restored and divided into sections that are displayed in various buildings: the section at SOMSI’s headquarters on Vicolo della Latteria is dedicated to “Old Crafts”, Villa Savorgnan is home to the “Traditional House of the 20thcentury”, and the Municipal Hangar on Via G. Ciani houses the “Peasant Life” and “Old Machine Tools” sections.
These collections offer a glimpse of a time that has almost entirely disappeared, of lifestyles, domestic habits, skills for making various tools for carpentry, mosaic and copper work, and many other handicrafts.

Thanks to a contribution from the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, a study has been made on the accessibility of these two eco-museum cells.
