Thematic Cells
Thematic Cells are places that, when linked together, form itineraries, pathways to discover places of significance to local communities. Like nodes in a larger network, they are scattered throughout our land, bearing witness to its values, content and stories. They serve as experiential laboratories, conservation hubs and repositories of past and present socio-cultural concepts, practices and patterns. They are both memory boxes and time capsules, where events, workshops and research take place in a spirit of community. Cells are places for experiences and emotions, for gaining knowledge and insights. People can feel that they are protagonists in the story of their community and can feel a connection to their historical heritage, with a desire to preserve it and keep it alive.
